Srey You


My name is SREY YOU. I’m 18 years old. I’m a student in Grade 10 in High school. I live in  Cambodia. My mother name is SARAY. She is 38 years old. She is a street seller in Thailand. My father name is YUK, He is 40 years old. He is a motor taxi driver. In my future I want to become a policewoman.

I want to tell of you about my works and my story I did:

July 26, 2011 I started study with FREEDOM STONES Organization. There are 15 students in our group. I and other students learned about Social health, Human rights, Human trafficking, Financial and Physical health and make jewelry to quality for export to the United States of America.

I and my members in FREEDOM STONES went to visit Angkor Wat at Siem Reap province. I has completed from FREEDOM STONES Programme on July 19, 2014.

Since I’ve studied with FREEDOM STONES I knew a lot of and help me for my life too.

June 17, 2014 I started study with WORLD VISION Organization. There are 27 people. I studied lots of and went to study about Child Abuse, Child Labor Exploitation and Trafficking in Persons a. I have successfully completed the training course “Smart Navigator Child Club” Organized by End Trafficking in persons program, Prevention Project World Vision Cambodia. The lessons that I’ve studied from World Vision I teach my members in Smart Navigator Child Club for 1 year. On May 22, 2014 my group went to Malai for competition picture about Trafficking in persons. We got third place. We are very happy because we like to show people around us. On June 05, 2014 I went to Siem Reap for competition picture about Trafficking in persons again. While I’m showing my capacity I’m nervous but I have encouragement. I try so much for explain 130 people about Trafficking in persons. I wined third place again for my show.

I learned with IOM for 3 days about migration to Thailand. Then I shared and explained to my group everything I’ve learnt from IOM. June 23, 2014 we made awareness to 140 people in our village about migration to Thailand. We can help people knew about migration to Thailand and Trafficking in persons also. This work we can help many people and society too.

After that we named the youth group called Mercy Youth in Easel school assisted by teacher Leng. I became a Youth leader to lead my group in Easel. I started to teach English to the children in EASEL SCHOOL in my village since July 21, 2014. In my school day, I changed to teach the child in evening class and learnt English more with teacher Leng.

On December 25, 2014 in EASEL SCHOOL we did x’mas day with the child study in EASEL and in village and the child near our villages also.

Since October 11, 2014 every Saturday to Sunday we always have youth meeting in Easel school and go out to teach the poor child near our villages about hand washing with soap and clean water. Every weekend I like do this works with my teams. I love everything I did in EASEL. I love my students, members, teachers that teaching me.

Now we had few more program are running such as : dancing group, rubbish program and story show. Dancing group we make it because I saw that my students like to sing and dance. We dance because we want to show the people in my village soon. And we will show it in x’mas day this year. Rubbish program we make it because we saw that in the village is not clean. We want our village clean and want to see children look good health. We want show people that we love them and love children.

Our group had a saving box. We have 15 people to join in our group. We put money every weekend after our youth meeting. The purpose of saving is for our school coming to buy school materials or uniform. For our big goal of saving wanted to visit the beach at Kampong Som province.
